Another unearthed recording from our SF weekly — JazidUp aka Mushroom Jazz Mondays. The cover image was taken by Kiino Villand in the back of our 2nd location at Cat Club on Folsom St. DJ Thomas (Tom of England), feeling my vibes in this photo, was my favorite DJ at the time, and it was amazing to be able to play with him — along with other fantastic DJ's like Mark Farina, Julias Papp, DJ Is, Marques Wyatt, and so many others.
We also lost our Mushroom Jazz co-conspirator Patty Ryan this past year. She was the force behind our weekly, as well as projects with Mark, Om Records, and so many more. She will be missed, but her spirit lives on in our music.
This mix was lost for many years. When I found a recording on cassette, it was noisy and had glitches in the recording from being duplicated a few times. I finally got around to remastering and fixing the glitches. I was tempted to rerecord the mix, but decided to repair to keep the original spirit of the mix. The recording was made on a Monday evening sometime in the summer of 1993. Enjoy!
