Music discovery

My interest in music discovery grew with my interest in DJing. I found myself both creating tools to improve discovery, and dreaming of ways to reduce the time I'd spend searching for music. Notation and spatial organization were some of the first tools I used. As music moved online, I was active in early music sharing apps like Audiogalaxy, which had clever tools for crowd-sourcing music discovery. Over the years I've worked on a number of music discovery tools and projects, and advised a company called TunesMap, which was exploring an expanded awareness of music. I've written extensively about music discovery, including my favorite platform for finding new music: Bandcamp.
